The political drama surrounding the unrest that occurred at the January 6th ‘Stop the Steal’ rally has been resurrected after Tucker Carlson released never before seen footage of what happened during the rally last night on his show.

Democratic politicians and some Republicans, including former Representative Adam Kinzinger (R-Il.) and Senator Kevin Cramer (R-Nd.) were critical of the decision to release the footage that shed light on key issues surrounding the events of the highly controversial protest.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-Ny.) called Carlson’s coverage of the protest ‘disgusting’ and demanded that FOX News stakeholder Rupert Murdoch shut down any dissenting opinion about the protest.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre also took a shot at Carlson and Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Ca.) for releasing and reporting on the tapes, saying that anyone who ‘watched the video’ would disagree with footage showing that the protesters were mostly peaceful and at times, aided by the Capitol Police.

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) responded to Pierre, saying that people who have refused to condemn Antifa as ‘domestic terrorists’ lost their ‘outrage card’ to attack January 6th protesters.

Far-left activists have been engaged in violent protests and riots in Atlanta due to a police training station that is being built for police in and around the area.

Greene recently introduced legislation that would classify Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization in response to attacks against police and police facilities in Atlanta.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that “anybody who watched that video [from the day of the attack] would strongly disagree” with Carlson’s characterization of the event.

“Anybody who watched that video with their own eyes in a real way and saw what happened that day would disagree,” Jean-Pierre said at a press briefing. “It was one of the darkest days of our democracy and all you have to do is watch those videos.”

Attorney General Merrick Garland declined to comment specifically about Carlson’s broadcast.

But Garland, speaking at a news conference, said, “I think all Americans saw what happened on Jan. 6, and most of us saw it as it was happening.

“It was a violent attack on a fundamental tenet of American democracy, that power is peacefully transferred from one administration to another,” Garland said.

He noted that more than 100 police officers were assaulted that day, and that four of those officers died from suicide in the months afterward, with a fifth, Sicknick, dying the day after the attack after having been sprayed with a chemical substance.
