Twelve Republican Senators went against President Trump recently when they voted against his border emergency. While Democrats are always team players, it hasn’t been the case with Republicans. Between the never-Trump group and those who suddenly felt the need to stand against declaring a national emergency (Rand Paul), these twelve Senators really let the American people down.

There has been a backlash from the Republican base and the Trump supporters who believe in what the president is doing to protect Americans. Part of the backlash could be felt when these twelve Senators are up for election again. One of these Senators rode on President Trump’s coattails to win in a close race the last election. U.S. Senator Roy Blunt of Missouri only won his election by 3 percentage points. The vote against Trump could spell trouble for the Senator next time around.

Even though Senator Roy Blunt has been reinvited to the event below, he got the message loud and clear that Americans are not happy with his vote against Trump:

The Kansas City Star reports:

U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt has been disinvited from a local GOP gathering in Christian County, Missouri, next month amid a backlash over his vote to block President Donald Trump’s use of emergency powers to build a border wall.

“I am so disappointed in you now that I can hardly speak,” wrote Wanda Martens, a member of the Christian County Republican Central Committee, in an email to Blunt’s office. “Why could you not support my president in the emergency declaration? President Trump tried every available means to work the Senate to resolve the border issue and build the much needed wall. He is well within his presidential powers to do this.”

“Please don’t try to tell me that I don’t understand. I understand completely,” Martens wrote. “I hate it when someone calls you the establishment and that you are part of the swamp, but maybe they were right.”

Wanda didn’t know when she sent the email to Blunt that another committee member had invited Blunt. So Blunt is invited but can’t make it. Wanda did what everyone should do. She spoke up against Blunt for the vote.

The Twelve Senators who voted against President Trump might want to think about their next career. Something tells us that there are many more who feel just like Wanda Martens.
