Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will address the nation Friday in Phoenix, Arizona.

“Independent Presidential Candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will address the nation live on Friday about the present historical moment and his path forward,” RFK Jr.’s campaign website reads.

RFK Jr.’s address will take place at 2 p.m. ET.

The event will be livestreamed on X and other social media platforms.

The announcement follows reports that the independent presidential candidate will drop out of the race and endorse Donald Trump.

"President Trump will ALSO be having an event in Phoenix on Friday," journalist Nick Sortor noted.

"This comes just one day after RFK Jr.’s running mate said they are considering dropping out and endorsing president Trump," he added.

The Arizona Republic reports:

Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will discuss “his path forward” in the presidential race in Phoenix on Friday, one week after his campaign submitted signatures to get on the Arizona ballot.

Kennedy will give his remarks hours before former President Donald Trump holds a rally in Glendale on Friday afternoon. The Kennedy speech also comes after his running mate said that they are weighing whether to “join forces” with Trump.

Independent vice presidential candidate Nicole Shanahan acknowledged worries that Kennedy could act as a spoiler in the 2024 election by pulling votes away from Trump and helping Vice President Kamala Harris win.

“There's two options that we're looking at, and one is staying in, forming that new party, but we run the risk of a Kamala Harris and Walz presidency ... or we walk away right now and join forces with Donald Trump,” Shanahan said during an interview on business podcast Impact Theory.

ABC News reported Wednesday that Kennedy could be out by the end of the week. Citing sources, ABC News said Kennedy "is leaning toward endorsing" Trump.

Trump will hold a rally in Glendale on Friday afternoon.

Per FOX 10 Phoenix:

Donald Trump will be back in Arizona for a campaign event at Desert Diamond Arena, as announced by Turning Point Action.

The former president is scheduled to visit the critical swing state following the conclusion of the Democratic National Convention taking place this week in Chicago.

It will be the Trump campaign's first chance to fire back at Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, after they deliver their message to the DNC following their late addition to the presidential ticket.

Trump is expected to take aim at the liberal economic and border policy proposals that Harris has championed throughout her campaign and career.

They are among the top two issues on the minds of voters in recent FOX polling.
