This month, a fundraiser for Ron DeSantis in Washington D.C. is being hosted by a lobbyist for Moderna, a vaccine and puberty blocker manufacturer that DeSantis is supposedly fighting against.
Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, D.C.’s largest federal lobbying firm, will be holding DeSantis’ fundraising event at their office, selling tickets for $1,000 each.
Marc Lampkin, a partner at the firm, is listed as a member of the event’s host committee, which has raised many eyebrows.
Critics, including Donald Trump, have bashed DeSantis for accepting money from Lampkin because he is registered as a lobbyist for Moderna, which manufactures COVID-19 mRNA vaccines, and AbbVie, which manufactures the puberty blocker Lupron.
Records indicate that Moderna is paying $320,000 a year to Lampkin’s firm for “issues related to mRNA drug discovery, drug development, and vaccine technologies.”
AbbVie is also paying Lampkin’s firm $240,000 per year to influence government decisions on its behalf.
DeSantis has been a vocal opponent of both mandating COVID-19 vaccines and allowing minors to be treated with puberty blockers if they believe they are transgender.
In fact, the Florida Governor has signed a bill that bans the use of puberty blockers for new patients under 18. He has also strongly condemned the idea of mandated COVID vaccines, and questioned the safety and effectiveness of mRNA vaccines.
It has also been discovered that Lampkin represented Fujian Jinhua, a Chinese state-owned semiconductor manufacturer that was sanctioned by Trump in 2018 after he determined it was a security threat.
Jason Miller, Trump’s Senior Advisor, slammed DeSantis for accepting money from someone who is on the opposing side of prominent political issues.
“It’s no surprise Ron DeSanctimonious would do a fundraiser with a lobbyist for a Chinese semiconductor company considering his globalist masters at the Club for No Growth have a China First trade policy,” said Miller, speaking to DailyMail.com.
“DeSanctus’ hypocrisy surrounding the COVID vaccine, and his willingness to accept money from a representative of a company manufacturing puberty blockers, also show that DeSanctus is willing to sell out for anything if the price is right.”
DeSantis’ campaign has not yet commented on the fundraiser’s controversial hosts.
