Instead, the Democratic nominee sent her campaign chair John Podesta in her place to give a message to the crowd that was waiting at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York Tuesday night.

“Several states are too close to call so we aren’t going to have anything more to say tonight,” Podesta told the crowd. “Everybody should head home and get some sleep. We’ll have more to say tomorrow.”
