Broward County Sheriff Israel was on the defense the entire time he was being interviewed by CNN’s Jake Tapper. Tapper drilled him with questions about what he should be responsible for in the wake of the horrific school shooting that killed 17.

Israel defended his record and said he would not resign over the mishandling of the shooting. He placed focus on the school deputy who did not go into the school to help:
