Representative Rashida Tlaib’s 2018 campaign events were organized by men found liable for financing the terrorist group Hamas
“Squad” Member Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) planned several fundraising events in her 2018 election campaign with the help of two men found liable in a scheme to finance the terrorist group Hamas.
The men, who organized events that were paid for by Tlaib’s campaign, were associated with a network of nonprofit groups that were found liable by a federal jury in 2004 for financing the terrorist slaying of an American teenager, David Boim, at a bus stop in the West Bank in 1996. A federal judge ordered the three groups to pay Boim’s parents a $156 million judgment for funding Hamas, a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization.
The groups — the Holy Land Foundation, the American Muslim Society, and the Islamic Association for Palestine — never paid up. They shut down shortly after they were ordered to pay the landmark judgment to the Boim family. The Holy Land Foundation ultimately had its monetary assets seized by the United States, and five of its leaders were sentenced to decades in prison in 2008 for providing material support to Hamas.
These two men who organized events for Tlaib held key positions in the terrorist-funding nonprofits.
The one man, Jaber, was prominently featured at campaign events and fundraisers held by Tlaib’s campaign. He praises Tlaib and Rep. Ilhan Omar for their support of Palestine but argues that it does not go far enough.
Indeed, Tlaib is an outspoken critic of Israel and, much like many antisemitic Democrats, is sympathetic to the terrorist causes in Palestine. Because of this, it is plausible that Tlaib was well-aware of the backgrounds of her organizers.
The other man, Salah Sarsour, allegedly wrote checks from his business bank account to a Hamas militant unit–active terrorists.
Both men aided terrorists in Israel and Palestine. Jaber went so far as to disseminate essays and documents advocating for martyrdom and the killing of Jewish individuals.
Yet, Tlaib chose them as organizers for her campaign.
Tlaib’s interests do not lie with the United States and our allies but with the terrorists who attack us.
