A suspicious letter was apparently found with Brian Laundrie’s notebook after he took his own life, which may also implicate his mother. Laundrie killed his girlfriend while on a road trip in 2021, and left her body in Grand Teton National Park before fleeing home to Florida.

Roberta Laundrie claims she wrote her letter prior to her son’s road trip, and although she offers to help bury a body if needed, she said it did not have anything to do with his murdered girlfriend Gabby, but instead was her trying to convey her dedication to her son.

“I truly loved my son, and simply wanted to convey to him how much he meant to me and how much I loved him. I am sure people use phrases all the time to express to their loved ones the depths of their love.

Although I chose words that I thought would be impactful with Brian given our relationship, the letter was in no way related to Gabby.”

Laundrie opted to release the letter after a judge ruled that it could be used in trial. Gabby’s parents Joe Petito and Nicole Schmidt, are suing the Laundrie family and claiming they knew Gabby was dead when their lawyer released a Sept 14, 2021 statement which read,

“On behalf of the Laundrie family it is our hope that the search for Miss Petito is successful and that Miss Petito is re-united with her family.”

The lawsuit is set to begin in August according to Daily Mail.

Roberta’s disturbing letter to her son instructed Brian to burn it after reading. In addition to offering to bring a shovel and garbage bags to dispose of a dead body, she also said if he was in jail she would sneak him a file in his cake.

“If you’re in jail I will bake a cake with a file in it. If you need to dispose of a body I will bring show up with a shovel and garbage bags.” The word ‘bring’ is crossed out.

‘While I used words that seem to have a connection with Brian’s actions and his taking of Gabby’s life, I never would have fathomed the events that unfolded months later between Brian and Gabby would reflect the words in my letter” Roberta claims. She insists she wrote the letter prior to the trip and that it made references to things specific to their relationship,

‘The letter to Brian was written prior to Gabby and Brian leaving my home for their trip. Previously, I submitted an affidavit to the court for very limited purposes but that is not the whole story,” she stated.

Roberta’s letter assured Brian of her unconditional love,

“I just want you to remember I will always Love you and I know you will always Love me. You are my boy. Nothing can make me stop loving you, nothing will or could ever divide us,” her letter promised.

But Gabby’s parents believe the letter is evidence that Roberta was involved with her son in attempting to cover-up Gabby’s murder.
