Sports television personality Stephen A. Smith said during his show that Donald Trump is on “the verge of getting elected.”

Smith criticized policies of giving funds to foreign countries and migrants while allowing Americans to starve and go homeless.

“I see homeless folks on the streets of New York all the time that are American citizens. I d*** sure see them in California. We’ve got poor, impoverished, [and] starving people who were born and raised in this nation,” Smith said.

“How in the h*** do we come up with a $53 million pilot program for illegals, but folks who are here legally, are born here, we don’t have enough for them,” he continued.

Smith’s criticism is directed at New York City’s proposed $53 million pilot program to give pre-paid cards to migrants.

Smith also criticized money given to foreign nations while Americans get nothing.

“Just like we can come up with billions for Ukraine, but some how, some way, we can’t fix the homeless problem,” he said.

“How the h*** do you print money for foreign countries, but you don’t print that money to help eradicate folks that are starving right here in the streets of America?” he asked.

“Who were born and raised here,” he added.

Smith proceeded to talk about inflation and how Americans need two jobs to pay for the same amount of food due to increased prices.

He later added, “that’s why Trump is on the verge of getting elected, reelected.”

“Because when he was in office there was a flourishing economy,” Smith said.

Smith previously said it was a “disgrace” that Democrats are begging Joe Biden to run against Donald Trump.

From The Hill:

Stephen A. Smith is calling out Democrats for relying on an octogenarian such as President Biden to beat former President Trump at the ballot box.

“It is an absolute disgrace on the part of the Democratic Party — Democrats, liberals … progressives — and you’re begging an 82-year-old man to run for reelection,” Smith said in a Tuesday interview on SiriusXM’s “The Howard Stern Show.”

“What the h*** have you been doing that in the year 2024 you have to rely on an 82-year-old to beat a 78-year-old man with four indictments, 91 counts against him?” Smith asked.

Biden is 81, while Trump is 77.

“How the h*** are we sitting here in the year 2024 and that’s what you need in order to beat him?” the ESPN personality and podcast host exclaimed to Stern.

“Not Nikki Haley. Not Chris Christie. Not even Ron DeSantis,” Smith continued.

“No, you need an 82-year-old man to run for reelection because you could not come up — over the span of the last six, seven years — you couldn’t come up with a candidate that’s more capable of beating Donald Trump,” Smith said.

“I think that is the ultimate indictment against the Democratic Party. I think that they have dropped the ball on a litany of issues, which are things I’ve told some of them to their face,” Smith, who described himself as an independent, said.
