According to a Daily Mail report, former White House chief strategist and War Room host Steve Bannon is plotting a presidential bid in the 2028 election.
The outlet framed a divisive 2028 primary battle between Bannon and Vice President J.D. Vance.
Earlier this week, President Trump said Vance is the “most likely” frontrunner for the 2028 GOP presidential nomination.

Daily Mail stated:
One source in Bannon's inner circle told the Daily Mail that the former strategist has privately ridiculed the prospect of Vance at the top of the ticket.
ADVERTISEMENT'Love him… but Vance is not tough enough to run in 2028,' the source said Bannon has conveyed to multiple people in his circles.
Bannon declined to comment to the Daily Mail while a spokesperson for Vance did not respond to a Daily Mail request for comment.
The seeds of Bannon's potential run emerges just days after Trump said Vance would likely be the favorite to succeed him.
One Republican consultant said while Bannon has long entertained aspirations to run for president, his specific plan remains in the contemplative stage.
Bannon is at the tip of the intellectual spear of the MAGA movement and a savvy media operator with an influential 'War Room' show who has previously teased running for president.
In an interview with Politico in March, Bannon told reporters: 'I don't think like a politician… all I do is back President Trump and try to move the populist agenda and the America First agenda.'
Bannon had a two-word response to the rumor.
"Trump 2028," he said.

The National Pulse explained:
Unnamed and anonymous sources have told Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper that Stephen K. Bannon is in the preliminary phases of planning a presidential run for the 2028 election. The news appears designed to create a significant rift within the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement, which Bannon was instrumental in building.
Speaking exclusively to The National Pulse on Thursday, after the publication of the Mail’s thinly sourced story, Bannon remarked, “Trump 2028.”
ADVERTISEMENTThe Daily Mail claims Bannon did not comment on the matter, but The National Pulse can also reveal that, according to Bannon himself, no request for comment was made to Bannon before the story’s publication.
