“Stop this plane, stop this plane!”

On Friday afternoon, crew members and passengers aboard Delta Flight 386 stopped a crazed man from attempting to hijack a plane bound for Nashville. The flight which originated out of Los Angeles was diverted to New Mexico for an emergency landing when a male passenger tried to bust his way into the cockpit, screaming, “stop this plane, stop this plane!”

Passengers aboard the flight captured the takedown:

The heroic crew member responsible for subduing the crazed man thanked the passengers for assisting him and told them, “He kept banging on the flight door. That’s a no-no”. “The second he banged on it, it was a wrap.”

Another passenger’s video shows the would-be hijacker, hogtied and face down (Language Alert):

Delta released a statement that read in part:

“Thanks to the crew and passengers of Delta Flight 386, LAX to Nashville (BNA), who assisted in detaining an unruly passenger as the flight diverted to Albuquerque (ABQ). The aircraft landed without incident, and the passenger was removed by law enforcement.”

The FBI is investigating the incident.
