The identity of the monster in the Texas Church shooting that led to the death of 27 churchgoers and injuries to many more has been released. While we have no motive at this time, the name of the shooter  is Devin Patrick Kelley, who according to the NY Times is from nearby Comal County, Texas.

He has numerous Facebook posts:

He “liked” many atheist items on Facebook:

Suspected Texas church shooter has been court-martialed and dishonorably discharged in May 2014.

MORE FACEBOOK “LIKES”:

He had recently shaved off a beard. A facebook post shows comments about it:He says it’s a “long story” on why he shaved it off recently.

“He went there, he walked in, started shooting people and then took off”

According to crowd-sourced (and therefore unverified) Everipedia, here’s what is currently being said about Kelley. He graduated from New Braunfels High School (which just over 30 miles away from Sutherland Springs) and he served in the US Air Force. Suspected Texas church shooter has been court-martialed and dishonorably discharged in May 2014. He allegedly taught a Bible Study class at a nearby church in 2013. Reports have also surfaced that his Mother-in-law owns a Sutherland Springs P.O. box, but that is unconfirmed.

The shooting took place at the churchl, which is located about 30 miles from San Antonio. Sutherland Springs is a community of about 400 people

Little is known about the Kelly’s motivation, but he was killed after a brief chase with local authorities that he led into Guadalupe County, which is adjacent to Wilson County’s Sutherland Springs where massacre took place. It is still unclear if he was killed by police or took his own life.
