Boeing and United Airlines have already had a disastrous week, with two United-operated Boeing jets experiencing difficulties.
First, a United Airlines’ Boeing plane made an emergency landing in Texas minutes into its flight after flames erupted from one of the engines.
Dramatic footage showed flames bursting from the engine shortly after takeoff from Houston.

Also, a United Airlines Boeing 777 lost a tire shortly after taking off from San Francisco International Airport.
The Japan-bound plane was diverted to Los Angeles International Airport.
“At approximately 11:35 a.m., United Flight 35 departing to Osaka lost a portion of landing gear tire during takeoff,” a United representative said, according to ABC 7.
The falling landing gear from the United flight damaged multiple vehicles in the San Francisco International Airport parking lot.

In the latest incident, a United Airlines Boeing 737 MAX rolled onto the grass when exiting the runway after landing in Houston Friday morning.
Passengers were evacuated from the plane.
No injuries were reported.

A United Airlines Boeing 737 MAX rolled onto the grass when exiting the runway at George Bush Airport in Houston early Friday, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said.
The 160 passengers and six crew were not injured. They left the plane and were bused to the terminal, the FAA and United said. The plane had departed from Memphis.
United said it will move the aircraft from the taxiway as soon as it is able. The FAA said it will investigate the incident.

United Airlines released the following statement:
“Around 8 a.m. today, a United Airlines flight landed on a runway at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH). As it was exiting the runway for the gate, the aircraft left the pavement and entered the grass along Runway 9-27. Fortunately, no one on board was injured and all passengers were safely transported to the terminal.
Per federal regulation, the FAA has been notified. Flights in and out of IAH continue without interruption.

Passenger Janet Bumbarger shared the video below exclusively with KPRC 2′s Gage Goulding. You can see a large first responder presence as passengers stare at the tilted plane on the runway.
According to KPRC 2′s Gage Goulding, a passenger on the flight stated that the landing was smooth however while taxiing, they turned and felt bumps.
”Felt like when you have a flat tire in a car,” the passenger told Goulding.
The passenger said that the plane ended up in the grass, leaning towards the left.
As of now, the bags and personal belongings of the passengers are still on board.
Some say they are worried that they will soon miss their connecting flights.
