Less than a week ago a ceasefire deal was agreed on between the U.S. and Russia over the Syria conflict. Russian Defense Ministry states that there have been 199 violations to that ceasefire since last Monday when it came into affect. They also claim that if the ceasefire fails then the blame will be laid on the U.S.

On the flip side of that coin the U.S. says that if the ceasefire doesn’t hold then the blame is on Putin, because of his willingness to use military force against violators of the ceasefire. Not to mention that Putin still has large amounts of military hardware being brought into Syria and his troops are still engaging in ground combat.

It appears that the two superpowers, Russia and the U.S. are at a stand still over the Syrian conflict and both want to start pointing fingers before anything has even been put into true effect. Meanwhile the UN has humanitarian aid waiting just at the border to get to some of the harder hit and more desperate areas like Muaddami near the capital of Damascus, yet they are prevented from doing so.

A senior rebel official in Aleppo warned on Saturday that the ceasefire “will not hold out as air strikes and shelling continued in some places and promised aid deliveries failed to come through. http://The truce, as we have warned, and we told the (US) State Department – will not hold out,” the rebel official said, pointing to the continued presence of a UN aid convoy at the Turkish border awaiting permission to travel to Aleppo.

“It is not possible for the party (Russia) that wages war against a people to strive to achieve a truce, as it is also not possible for it to be a sponsor of this agreement while it bombs night and day, while on the other side, the other party – America – has the role of spectator.”

It’s a deadlock that will end badly if Moscow and Washington don’t stop with the premature blame game and actually start the actions it will take to uphold each of their own end of the deal. Obama and Putin are both like giant children throwing a temper tantrum because neither can have their way 100%. Lets hope they figure it out before it gets worse.
