Monday, Bryan Griffin Press Secretary for Ron DeSantis posted a response to The View inviting DeSantis to appear on the show.

He asked if they were really interested in hearing about all the work DeSantis was doing for Floridians.

He went on to detail past comments from the view and asked which of them should be taken into consideration as they decided if it was worth the time to do the interview. A few of the comments cited by Griffin are:

“Death-Santis … I think he’s a fascist and a bigot.” (Sunny Hostin)

On governor DeSantis’ policies: “Its Anti-American, its what happens in Venezuela, its what happens in Nicaragua.” (Ana Navarro)

Ron DeSantis did accept a speaking opportunity in late July in front of a large group of youth hosted by Turning Point USA (TPUSA). Telling the students “he has only just begun to fight” and encouraging students to get out and vote.

The View attacked Turning Point after protestors showed up outside. Insinuating the TPUSA supported Nazi behavior.

Turning Point USA sent a cease-and-desist letter to ABC News, which The View is under.

“The false statements of fact intentionally made during The View’s July 25th segment were unquestionably harmful to TPUSA’s reputation and brought the organization and its student affiliates into disrepute with the public, potential donors, and current and future business partners, posing a significant financial loss to the organization,”
