Tiger Woods had his driver’s license suspended for five years as part of a plea deal in his DUI case.

Woods, who also had to pay a fine, pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of reckless driving and refusal to submit to a lawful test in Martin County Circuit Court in Florida.

The legendary golfer agreed to pay $1,500 in fines.

He was also found guilty of careless driving, a moving violation.

“Tiger Woods has reached a deal that will avoid jail time, following a DUI arrest after he clipped a pickup truck with his vehicle in March, causing the car to roll over,” The New York Times wrote.

Thomas Bakkedahl, a state attorney, defended his decision to accept the plea, saying he “did what I think is right.”

Judge Darren Steele told Woods that the suspended license “is for the safety of the public.”

“There are no exceptions,” Steele said. “If you were to drive for any reason at all, you would go immediately back to jail.”

Bakkedahl said he was confident that Woods would be spotted if he doesn’t heed Steele’s message.

“Of all the people in the world who should not get behind the wheel of a car, it’s one of the most recognizable people on the planet,” Bakkedahl said.

What wasn’t immediately clear is whether Woods can drive a cart on a golf course. Bakkedahl told reporters he needed to check on that.

“Tiger should be able to drive a golf cart on the golf course,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis commented.

“I know Tiger very well. He’s a great guy. He’s unique in so many ways, especially as an athlete, but also as a man,” President Trump said.

“Because of his horrible back. He had, in my opinion, a bad doctor. But he had a back operation that did not work out well. And he is under pain,” Trump continued.

“And so it’s a tough deal when you’re taking a painkiller because you’re under pain and tremendous pain. And I thought it was very fair,” he added.

Trump said he previously told Woods that somebody should drive him.

“I told him that a long time, why don’t you get somebody to drive you. So he’s going to have somebody drive him from now on,” Trump said.

“He’s just a very special guy. I’m glad that was resolved,” he added.

Woods previously pleaded not guilty to driving under the influence after his Land Rover clipped a truck and rolled onto its side while traveling at high speeds on a beachside residential road on Jupiter Island.

The troubled golfer told an arresting officer at the time that he was looking down at his phone and changing the radio station when he hit the truck, after crawling out of his vehicle uninjured.

Woods’ breathalyzer test showed no signs of alcohol, but he refused a urine test and showed signs of impairment.

Two pain pills were found in his pocket by deputies, a sheriff’s office report said.

In July, Judge Darren Steele approved an agreement allowing prosecutors to review medical records related to Woods’ crash and arrest.

A similar agreement signed off in May granted prosecutors access to all prescription records for Woods at a Palm Beach pharmacy from the start of the year through the end of March.

Woods was allowed to travel outside the US to seek treatment at an inpatient facility following his arrest, court records show.
