Oops! What happens when you aren’t diverse enough these days?

In the case of the Women’s March organizers, you shut down the event. “Too many white people” isn’t acceptable in this organization even though the people who showed the most interest in the event are white. Perhaps they should show some appreciation for the support they’re getting from people no matter their skin color. Minority women are valued more than white women? Wow! Isn’t this discrimination?

Women’s March organizers decided to cancel the Women’s March scheduled for January 19th in Eureka, California because all who signed up are “overwhelmingly white”.

A press release cited a lack of diversity and stated that the decision was made after conversations with supporters and organizers:

“This decision was made after many conversations between local social-change organizers and supporters of the march.”

The press release further stated that participants are “overwhelmingly white”:

“Up to this point, the participants have been overwhelmingly white, lacking representation from several perspectives in our community. Instead of pushing forward with crucial voices absent, the organizing team will take time for more outreach. Our goal is that planning will continue and we will be successful in creating an event that will build power and community engagement through connection between women that seek to improve the lives of all in our community.”

The group plans on celebrating International Women’s Day in March and is encouraging women to attend…

Will they limit the number of white women again? Is this not discrimination to cancel events just because there are too many people of one race participating?
