In an interview with NBC News, broadcast Monday, Putin was asked whether he had ordered the assassination of Alexei Navalny, the Russian opposition leader who survived a nerve-agent poisoning last year? Navalny has accused Putin of directly ordering the attempt on his life.

Putin responded by bringing up Ashli Babbitt, a Trump supporter whom a police officer fatally shot as she tried to pass over a barricade leading to the Speaker’s Lobby.

“Did you order the assassination of the woman who walked into the Congress and who was shot and killed by a policeman? Do you know that 450 individuals were arrested after entering the Congress? And they didn’t go there to steal a laptop. They came with political demands. 450 people,” Putin asked.

“They’re facing — they’re looking— they’re— they’re looking at jail time, between 15 and 25 years. And they came to the Congress with political demands,” he  continued.

“Isn’t that persecution for political opinions? Some have been accused of plotting to topple— to take over government power. Some are accused of robbery. They didn’t go there to rob.”

Yahoo News – Last night, Tucker Carlson played the Putin clip on his Tuesday night show and said: “Now, under normal circumstances, we would never play a tape of a foreign adversary criticizing our government. But honestly, those are fair questions.”

“Who did shoot Ashli Babbitt and why don’t we know?” Carlson continued. “Are anonymous federal agents now allowed to kill unarmed women who protest the regime? That’s OK now? No, it’s not OK.”

Then today, a heated exchange took place between Putin and ABC corporate media shill Rachel Scott took place during a press conference.

Scott tried to put on a confrontational tone when she accused Putin of not properly answering her question and repeated her question regarding the Russian government’s treatment of political opponents, quite possibly including assassination.

In response to her question, Putin pointed out his sympathies to what is happening in America, referring specifically to the over four hundred people detained under unknown charges in connection to the January 6th incident. He also went on to criticize America for allowing the riots following the death of George Floyd to escalate to the level that they did and expressed his intention of not allowing such destruction to occur in the Russian Federation.

Putin went on to drop another nugget of truth and mentioned the shooting and killing of Ashli Babbitt, a veteran and documented protestor at the Capitol on January 6th, in a show of resolve against the corporate media most Republicans have yet to match.
