A boat in collided at a marina in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Monday, resulting in one person dead.

Fire officials reported, just after 6 p.m.they received multiple 911 calls regarding an explosion at the Lauderdale Marina.

When fire rescue members arrived on the scene they transported 5 people to the hospital and divers found a sixth person dead in the water.

One person has died and several people were injured after an explosion on a boat Monday at a marina in Fort Lauderdale, fire officials said.

It happened just before 6 p.m. Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue said they received multiple 911 calls reporting the explosion at Lauderdale Marina at 1900 SE 15th Street.Five people were transported to area hospitals, with three of them with traumatic injuries, officials said.Divers searched the waters for a sixth person, who was found deceased, officials said.

Surveillance video showed the moments the boat exploded. The fire eventually grew larger and larger and thick black smoke billowed in the sky.

One person died and several others were injured after a boat exploded Monday night at a Fort Lauderdale marina, according to a report from NBC Miami.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue told the station that the explosion happened at about 6 p.m. at Lauderdale Marina. The fire from the explosion then spread to a second boat.

Three of the five people hospitalized have “traumatic injuries,” according to NBC Miami.

One person who was missing in the water was found dead, officials said.

The cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
