Contrary to what the radical left in America wants you to believe, President Trump is not some ruthless dictator bent on gathering all power and authority for himself to rule over the citizens of our great nation with an iron fist.

He’s actually a pretty normal guy — for a billionaire that is — and seems to have a personality that makes it natural for him to relate to the common man.

Part of that charm is his sense of humor, which he had an opportunity to put on full display when asked by Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk asked what advice he’d give to his younger self.

via Fox News Insider:

“What advice would you give to the 25-year-old Donald Trump knowing what you know today?” Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk asked in a sitdown interview in Washington, D.C.

“Don’t run for president,” the 71-year-old Trump responded with a smile, drawing laughs from the crowd.

He explained that he used to get “great publicity” until he ran for president, adding he’s proud that he has been able to “expose … the fake news” media in recent years.

“We have shown something that a lot of people didn’t really understand. Their approval ratings are down the tubes. People have found out how dishonest it is,” said Trump.

While Trump’s comment was clearly a joke, there’s obviously some truth to it. Being president has to be one of the hardest jobs on the planet, and every single former president would probably attest to this fact.

You’re essentially signing up to be constantly mocked, ridiculed, slammed, criticized, threatened, and verbally attacked over every move you make. It’s truly a thankless job, especially when you’re dedicated to doing the hard things that are necessary if we’re going to see America get back on track.

At least Trump is keeping his sense of humor in tact. Let’s hope it stays that way.
