President Trump claimed Thursday morning that the Democrats’ ‘star witnesses’ were unable to point to an impeachable offense.
Former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bill Taylor and Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs George Kent testified Wednesday.
They were the first witnesses to appear for public hearings as part of the impeachment inquiry
Trump referenced Republican Representative John Ratcliffe’s questioning where he pushed Taylor and Kent to point to the impeachable offense from Trump’s call with the Ukrainian President.
Rep. John Ratcliffe: "Are either of you here today to assert there was an impeachable offense in that call? Shout it out. Anyone?"
Bill Taylor: "I'm not here to do anything having to do with the country decide about impeachment." #ImpeachmentHearings pic.twitter.com/R0ZYS7tyU1

They were silent in response to Ratcliffe’s question but then Taylor finally said it wasn’t his job to determine if impeachment is warranted.
