Alexa Lorenzo of Fox 13 posted a touching video of two young black men giving new clothes and shoes to a white classmate who, according to Lorenzo, has been bullied for wearing the same clothes to school every day.

The video was taken at Martin Luther King Jr. Prep School in Memphis, TN. The charter prep school has a minority population of 99%. The boy who is the recipient of their kindness is clearly in the minority at MLK Prep.

The look on the boy’s face who was being bullied by his classmates appears to be one of confusion. Life can be brutal, especially when you’re a teenager in high school. The two unnamed boys in the video, who went out of their way to help this young man gave him more than clothes, they offered their friendship to someone who, like most high school-aged kids, simply wanted to feel accepted by his peers.

STOP BULLYING: A freshman at MLK Prep was getting made fun of for weeks. He wore the same clothes to school every day.

I spoke with the teens behind this good and the boy who says, “It was the best day of my entire life.”

Barack and Michelle Obama left a legacy of a racially divided America. It will take years to heal the wounds they opened by promoting a victim mentality, pitting whites against blacks, citizens against cops, and haves against have nots. These young boys and their act of kindness help to restore our faith in humanity. There is so much good in America, it’s too bad that we don’t see more of these types of stories, where kids show us by example what it means to love and care for one another.
