The gasps could be heard throughout the UN when Italian politician Pietro Fiocchi advised climate activist Greta Thunberg. His advice was somewhat fatherly and kind, saying her life is “as precious as the climate”:
“At the same time, I would like to give an advice as a father gives an advice to a daughter — go back to school and go back to a normal life. Your childhood is as precious as the climate, and if you don’t do something about it, you will lose it forever, [just] as if we do not do anything about the climate, we will lose it forever.”

Thunberg has been a fixture in the climate change movement and has traveled the world speaking about how climate change will destroy us all if we don’t act soon.
The ironic thing is that Thunberg’s traveling has given her a bigger carbon footprint than most people.
