A mom and dad from Montana who accused the state’s Child Protective Services (CPS) of ‘kidnapping’ their 14-year-old daughter after they refused to let her transition into a boy reportedly face arrest when they reenter the state.

Montana Parents Accuse Child Protective Services Of ‘Kidnapping’ 14-Year-Old Daughter For Refusing Gender Transition

According to Reduxx, Krista and Todd Kolstad reportedly face imminent arrest upon returning to Montana after speaking to the media about their situation.

"The Kolstads have been made aware through their lawyer that they may be arrested when they return to Montana from Ohio where they are still caring for a sick relative," Reduxx stated.

“We were very concerned, but not surprised, to learn from a credible source that the Governor of Montana plans to arrest us the moment we step foot back in Montana. We are also told that he has tasked his senior adviser and director of strategic communications to use the media to punish us for speaking out about the state’s medical kidnapping of our daughter,” Krista Kolstad told Reduxx.

“It was an abuse of power for the state to revoke custody of our daughter because we wouldn’t affirm her ‘gender identity.’ It is an abuse of power to use tax-dollars to smear us as negligent in the press despite records that prove we have always proactively sought care for our daughter’s ongoing, unrelated mental health issues. We have also followed medical recommendations pertaining to these issues since she has been in state custody. The only thing we ever objected to is ‘transitioning’ our daughter," she continued.

“Any accusation that she was taken from our home due to abuse or neglect secondary to this issue is a bald-faced lie with political foundations. Our daughter is not a political pawn. She is a child and she should be with her family – not the state. We are never going to stop fighting for our daughter," she added.

"The Montana family who lost custody of their teen daughter after objecting to her 'gender transition' have now been told they are facing arrest. Krista and Todd Kolstad were previously ordered not to speak about their family's ordeal," Reduxx wrote.

"Moments ago, the First Amendment lawyer representing the Kolstad family filed a case at the Montana Supreme Court seeking to strike down their gag order and keep them out of jail. The Kolstads are currently in Ohio caring for a sick family member, but were told they would be arrested upon return to Montana in apparent retaliation for speaking out against the state's Child and Family Services Division," the outlet added.

Reduxx reports:

Since receiving the news of their possible arrest, the Kolstads have no plan to return to Montana at this time.

Mattie Watkins, the family’s media representative reiterated Krista’s sentiments, and slammed Gianforte’s office for participating in the “smear” campaign against the Kolstads.

“We anticipated Governor Gianforte’s next move would be to smear US Air Force veteran, Todd Kolstad and his wife, Krista, as abusive parents. It’s clear that his top priority is his political reputation – not the child at the center of this increasingly political fight,” Watkins said.

“Surely to defame parents as abusive, to take away their child, requires some standard of evidence. If not, where does this stop? Which family, in which state, is next? In my opinion, Gianforte is giving state agents a manual on how to sever the parent-child relationship and bypass all levels of law and government in order to put any minor they like on the affirmation to lifelong medicalization pipeline. Our children are not safe in government care.”

"Parents in Montana are having their own children ripped from their arms for not allowing them to get mutilated at a young age. What is this country coming to? Praying for the Kolstad family," Rep. Matt Rosendale (R-MT) previously said.

"What makes the situation worse is that the Kolstad family is facing this crisis in a Republican-led state. With all the bloviating Republicans do in front of the camera about there being only two genders, male and female, in reality, children are as much at risk of falling prey to progressive activists in a red state as they are in blue ones," Mary Rooke wrote in the Daily Caller.

More from Rooke at the Daily Caller:

Krista (stepmom) and Todd (biological father) accuse Montana’s child protective services of “kidnapping” their 14-year-old daughter and trafficking her across state lines to a specialized residential care facility to receive treatment for her severe mental health issues. They are now threatening to send her out of the country to Canada.

It all started when their daughter’s school notified the Kolstads that she had expressed the intent to commit suicide and was later visited by Montana Child and Family Services for an unannounced inspection, according to a report in Reduxx. During the visit, their daughter told CFS that she had taken painkillers with cleaning supplies in a direct act to end her life. Despite their daughter’s history of attention-seeking behavior, they agreed to take her to the hospital to make sure she wasn’t critically injured.

During the examination, the hospital refused to call the Kolstad’s daughter by female pronouns and the name she was given at birth. Instead, they referred to her as a boy named “Leo.” It’s supposed to be illegal in Montana for children to receive “permanent, life-altering medical procedures” like hormone blockers, cross-sex hormones, or irreversible surgeries. But unlike conservatives, progressives never ask for permission when exercising their bureaucratic power.

The staff ultimately determined the teenager could not have taken painkillers with the cleaning supplies as she claimed. Physically, she was fine.

In a logical country, this would be the end of the line for the state’s continued involvement, but we no longer live in a country that protects the divine right of parents. Instead, they are forced to sit back and watch as the state flexes its power over families.

Their daughter would be admitted to the hospital because of her suicidal intentions. Mrs. Kolstad says gender ideology was pushed on their daughter despite the Republican state’s law outlawing the barbaric practice.
