Another U.S. House seat has been flipped in what is looking more and more like an imminent TRIFECTA SWEEP for Republicans, winning the Presidency, Senate, and House of Representatives!

Republican Gabe Evans has upset the 8th Congressional District of Colorado in an amazing uphill charge against the incumbent democrat, Yadira Caraveo.  And although the “trifecta” win has been presumed over the past week, the ongoing ballot counting means the sweep is not official — yet.  But with Gabe Evans’ win the Republican control of the Executive Branch and both houses of Congress is literally 1 seat away from becoming a reality.

Congressman-elect Evans issued a statement Sunday afternoon as the race was called, and his win became clear.  According to a report in CBS News, the first to call the race, Evans thanked his supporters, family, and staff — and God.

“I am incredibly humbled to be chosen as the next Congressman for Colorado’s 8th. It is an honor to be entrusted with the job of representing you and your families, and I am ready to fight back for a better direction for all Coloradans,” Evans said. “Thank you to my amazing wife and family for their incredible support and love over the past year, and thank you to our campaign’s amazing staff and volunteers for their long hours and dedication to flipping this seat.”

“Thank you also to Congresswoman Yadira Caraveo for your service and gracious concession. I look forward to working with her and her team to transition this office over the next few months,” he continued. “Most importantly, I give thanks to God. My faith in Him has sustained me throughout this 15-month campaign.”

Evans said he’d hold a news conference on Monday to say more about the race.

He won his primary in June with 77.5% of the vote. Caraveo is finishing up her first term in the new congressional district, which includes Greeley, Fort Lupton, Thornton and other areas just north of Denver.

Evans is a Colorado state representative and former police officer, while Caraveo is Colorado’s first Latina member of Congress.

Check out Gabe’s initial campaign ad, introducing himself.  He previously worked in law enforcement, and served in the U.S. Army as a Black Hawk pilot with one combat deployment under his belt, according to a story in the Colorado Sun.

Evans was leading Caraveo with 49% of the vote to her 48% at 3:15 p.m. on Sunday when Caraveo conceded. They were separated by about 2,500 votes.

Evans said in a written statement that he was incredibly humbled.

“It is an honor to be entrusted with the job of representing you and your families, and I am ready to fight back for a better direction for all Coloradans,” Evans said, thanking Caraveo for her service.

The victory by Evans, an Army veteran and former police officer, dislodges the first Latina elected to Congress from Colorado. Evans is Hispanic, too.

The win will improve Republicans’ chances of keeping control of the U.S. House and securing unified control over the federal government. The GOP has already won control of the U.S. Senate and Republican Donald Trump will be president.

Evans’ victory gives Republicans 214 seats in the House as of Sunday afternoon. They need 218 to maintain their majority.

I’m thinking back to a month ago when the possibility of a “trifecta” victory started to really catch traction.  The betting markets were clearly showing signs of that possibility, and even the classic polling indicators showed a shift in that direction.

While we wait for those final votes to be found — er, I mean ‘counted’ — I suspect plenty of democrat strategists are scratching their heads, completely stumped as to how the lies that once worked… no longer seem effective enough to win elections in most districts.

Time to wake up, democrats; “we the people” are no longer as susceptible to the fear-based pragmatism that has corralled the American electorate into compromising our AMERICAN PRINCIPLES, as in years past.  We’ve grown wise to your game, and we’re overturning the board.  You want a reset???  We’ll show you what a RESET really looks like.
