2020 Democratic candidate Mayor Bill de Blasio quoted Che Guevera, saying “hasta la victoria siempre,” during a rally with union members at Miami International Airport today.
He was immediately blasted for quoting Che. Of course, the SEIU (Obama’s Purple Army) cheered when he said: “hasta la victoria siempre” which means “Until victory, always!” The problem is that these words are very offensive to the Miami residents who escaped the Cuban Revolution.
Watch below:
The New York City Mayor might have felt ok saying this in NYC but Miami is a totally different story.
The phrase was used by Che during the Cuban Revolution so the many people who are refugees and Republicans who escaped the Cuban Revolution didn’t like this at all and spoke out on social media:
State Rep. Annette Taddeo:
I am utterly disgusted! Both @JoseJavierJJR and I left before @BilldeBlasio spoke. This is completely unacceptable! How can anyone wanting to be the leader of the free world quote a murderous guerrilla -in Miami no less! A community filled with his victims! #DeleteYourCampaign

State Senator Jose Javier Rodriguez:
Neither @Annette_Taddeo nor I were present when @BilldeBlasio spoke, didn’t speak w him & only learn of this now. Quoting a murderer responsible for death & oppression in communist Cuba and throughout Latin America is not acceptable. Please apologize. Many on strike are Cuban btw
