UFC CEO Dana White said anyone who considers themselves a “patriot” should be drinking “gallons of Bud Light.”

Does that mean the boycott is over?

“If you consider yourself a patriot, right? You’re a patriot. You should be drinking gallons of Bud Light. Believe me when I tell you,” White told former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

“Wait, wait, wait. I should be boycotting Bud Light,” Carlson replied.

“Gallons of Bud Light! You should have Bud Light drums stacked up in your garage and drinking it right out of the keg,” White said.

“They are way more aligned with you than most of these other beer companies,” he continued.

“I, who consider myself a patriot. I don’t go crazy over the whole patriot thing, but I consider myself a proud American. I’m happy to be an American. I love this country. And you are way more aligned with Anheuser-Busch than you are with other beer companies,” White added.

UFC Announces Partnership With Controversial Beer

From 100 Percent Fed Up:

The organization struck a multi-year deal, which goes into effect January 1st, giving Bud Light a heavy presence in UFC’s online and broadcasting content.

“Anheuser-Busch and Bud Light were UFC’s original beer sponsors more than fifteen years ago. I’m proud to announce we are back in business together,” UFC CEO Dana White said in a statement, according to Fox News.

“There are many reasons why I chose to go with Anheuser-Busch and Bud Light, most importantly because I feel we are very aligned when it comes to our core values and what the UFC brand stands for. I’m looking forward to all of the incredible things we will do in the years ahead,” he added.

Could this be a desperate action by Bud Light to save its brand?

Are they trying to overcome the brutal backlash from the advertisements featuring Dylan Mulvaney?

“Bud Light just spent $100 million on a UFC sponsorship deal to try and cancel out the chicks with d***s ad. No one is drinking Bud Light at any tailgate I’ve been to this fall. Brand is dead,” Outkick’s Clay Travis wrote.

Dana White discussed the Bud Light partnership with Theo Von last month and responded to critics who said the deal made him a “sellout.”

Per Daily Mail:

Dana White has hit back at critics of the UFC’s $105million-a-year sponsorship deal with Bud Light, insisting he doesn’t ‘give a s***’ about the backlash and the beer brand is ‘exactly who I want to be with right now’.

There have been growing calls from UFC supporters to boycott the sport following the announcement of their six-year marketing partnership with brewer Anheuser-Busch last month.

They had formerly held the position as the best-selling beer in the US but have since lost that ranking after partnering with trans activist Dylan Mulvaney in April.

Bud Light has faced months of protests and consumer anger since its ill-fated partnership with Mulvaney. The company has seen Bud Light sales decline for months.
