A goofball reporter at the G20 Summit asked President Trump if he would tell Putin to stop meddling in our elections.
The problem is that Putin was sitting right next to Trump! The two scenarios are to either publicly shame Putin, which even President Obama publicly said doesn’t work or play the question off as Trump did.
The left immediately jumped on the comments from the president to be a gaffe and inappropriate. It’s been the talk on social media and promoted in a negative light by the media. A Fox News analyst who is a former Obama administration official pushed the negative narrative that this was a terrible offense by Trump. Here’s Obama saying that public shaming does not work with Putin:
Perhaps the media should look at what REALLY matters. The fact is that President Trump has been tougher than any president since the Cold War, according to Daniel Vajdich:
“When you actually look at the substance of what this administration has done, not the rhetoric but the substance, this administration has been much tougher on Russia than any in the post-Cold War era,” said Daniel Vajdich, a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council.
Vajdich goes on to mention Trump’s actions on getting tough with Russia:
-military spending to deter Russian aggression
-loosened military rules of engagement
-gave U.S. forces in Syria more leeway to engage with Russian troops
-sent lethal weapons to Ukraine
-sanctions against Russia
-aggressively promoting U.S. energy exports
The nitpicking of every move by Trump continues, and this could be the pinnacle of it all. It’s just silly to bash the president for the idiotic question from a reporter

Full-on Clintonite Madeline Albright said she’s “appalled” at the comments from Trump. What would she say in a situation like that?
