An Illinois father who broadcasts a weekend radio show alongside a medical career, recently came out swinging against Critical Race Theory (CRT). Ty Smith lambasted CRT during a full district school board meeting arguing that it is seriously flawed and is “teaching kids to hate each other….how to dislike each other.”

Smith went on to debunk CRT, the divisive philosophy that has infuriated parents, which makes the claim that white people have it better due to their skin color, and black people are perpetual victims because white people keep them that way.

Mr. Smith, who is black, destroyed the argument that white people kept him from achieving his goals, asking, “How do I have two medical degrees if I’m sitting here oppressed?” Smith continued, “No mom, no dad in the house. Worked my way through college, sat there and hustled my butt off to get through college”. His statements drew loud applause from the other parents in attendance.

Smith stated that no white person has ever oppressed him, saying, “not one white person ever came to me and said ‘well, son, you know you’ll never be able to get anywhere because you know the black people…’”

Speaking fast to stay within his allotted time slot, Smith called critical race theory a “lie” that contradicts the dreams of Martin Luther King.  He said it is going to completely reverse Dr. King’s dream where people will be judged by the content of their character, not on their skin color.
