It’s hard to believe people would harass the very people who are trying to protect them from harm but it happened yesterday in Philadelphia during a tense standoff between police and a gunman. It’s also unbelievable that people would call a reporter relaying the truth “racist”.

A “startled” Philadelphia reporter for  CBS3 tweeted out about the chaos during the standoff between an armed man and the local police officers.

Alexandria Hoff reported: “I mentioned this at 10 and since I was harassed during that live shot, I’ll mention it here too. A major moment of disappointment this evening was watching a crowd of people taunt police officers, laughing and yelling at them in the midst of the gunfire.

She was challenged about the angle of the story and then bombarded for her truthful reporting:

I have no angle. I am reporting on what I saw here tonight. It’s a terrible situation, with no room for laughter

She continued to report what she saw:

For context: We were on a block where police were asking people to move off the street to the sidewalk for their safety. A group of approx 12 people refused, some yelling disparaging things others laughing at those comments in the officer’s faces.

I like talking to anyone I can but was forced to walk off after a woman involved with the taunting yelled repeatedly for me and the camera to “get the f*** out of here”. Now, I can take this. People are ugly to me all the time but also, I didn’t have my colleagues shot today.

She then added this tweet after two hours of being challenged on her reporting:

I should add…98 percent of people here on scene were respectful and concerned. That moment was just such a startling thing to see in the middle of something so chaotic.”

This reporter was subjected to her own harassment by local people on the street:

Hoff was bombarded with claims of bias and “racism”:

THERE IS VIDEO WITHIN OUR PREVIOUS REPORT SHOWING THE BEHAVIOR FROM THE CROWD:

Philadelphia Police Officers had been on the scene of a dangerous active shooter situation since 4:30 pm.

Six officers were shot and injured after the shooter started shooting everywhere from inside a home. Anyone could have been injured but the police officers sacrificed themselves for the safety of the people in the neighborhood.

Video captured of the police officers moving through a crowd of people shows one woman shoving an officer and then rock-throwing towards the officers in the street.

The active-shooter situation in Philly began when at 4:30 pm police officer in the Nicetown-Tioga area of North Philly was trying to serve a warrant for a narcotics arrest and encountered an active shooter who fired on the officers.

The officers frantically called for backup, “shots fired, shots fired at North 15th street.”

Additional officers arrived at the active shooter scene where they remained behind cars and exchanged fire with the shooter.

Video below shows the police officers behind cars on the right.
