It’s no secret that our nation is severely divided along political lines right now, but it’s actually way worse than you might initially think.

Remember when a crazy left-winger opened fire on GOP congressmen and senators practicing for a baseball game?

Well, the nuttiness continues as another crazy kook just landed himself in prison after threatening to murder Rep. Scott Taylor from Virginia over marijuana policy.

Apparently that whole stereotype about stoners being mellow and chill isn’t 100 percent accurate.

The Daily Wire reports:

According to court documents, 69-year-old Wallace Grove Godwin entered Rep. Scott Taylor’s (R-VA) office on Thursday and threatened to shoot him and two of his staffers over a supposed discussion about marijuana policy.

“Scott is having an event this Saturday. I am going to get my shotgun and do something about this. I will just handle this myself,” Godwin allegedly told Taylor’s staffer. He then pointed at two staffers and told them “You two are next.”

Gowdin, who is expected to be in a federal court this afternoon, faces up to 10 years in prison for threatening a member of Congress.

This is extremely scary. What has happened to America being a place where folks of different walks of life could engage in civil discourse without wanting to hurt each other? Is that a vision of America that is long gone now?

Liberals have put their deep hatred for those who see the world differently than them on full display the last two years. Between shootings aimed at killing congressmen all the way to violent, bloody confrontations by protesters, it’s become clear that tolerance is more of a verbal concept than a principle lived out in reality.
