According to a Bloomberg report, Donald Trump is no longer considering former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy as his running mate.

The outlet reports that people briefed on the discussion said Trump personally told Ramaswamy he won’t be his vice presidential pick.

However, the biotech entrepreneur is reportedly being considered for a Cabinet position, including Homeland Security secretary.

“Some Trump allies see Ramaswamy as ideal for the job because they say he excels at public speaking and, as an Indian-American son of an immigrant, could neutralize criticism of sweeping immigration restrictions,” Bloomberg reports.

The outlet discussed other individuals being considered for roles in a future Trump administration.

Per Bloomberg:

Those who have impressed Trump and his team for possible Cabinet roles include another former GOP primary foe, North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, as well as Representative Elise Stefanik and former US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer.

Trump is looking for a running mate who isn’t motivated by the limelight, but who will help give him a measurable edge in the race against President Joe Biden, according to those familiar with his thinking. Trump has confided to close advisers and allies that none of the names circulating as potential running mates have impressed him much. His list of options has only grown longer, not shorter, according to people close to the former president.

Ousted US House Speaker Kevin McCarthy is seen as a top candidate to serve as chief of staff. McCarthy, who turned down the job in Trump’s last term because he wanted to serve as speaker, has assets that Trump views positively including an understanding of Capitol Hill, federal agencies and budgets.

The former president and his advisers are eager to avoid what they see as a crucial mistake from the first term, when a chaotic transition effort and the appointment of series of top-level aides and Cabinet members who sought to constrain – rather than enable – Trump’s agenda stalled legislative and regulatory priorities.

The outlet reports Senate Republicans Mike Lee and Ted Cruz are potential candidates for attorney general.

North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum is reportedly viewed as a potential fit to lead the Energy Department.

In addition to Ramaswamy reportedly being out of VP consideration, the outlet reported that Trump isn’t satisfied with Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), or Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL) for the role.

Of course, things could always change.

According to a prior NBC News report, President Trump’s top concern when it comes to choosing a VP candidate is abortion.

President Trump’s “Top Concern” For VP Pick Unveiled In New Report – TWO Potential Candidates Ruled Out?

100 Percent Fed Up previously reported:

Allegedly, sources close to Trump say he has been asking about potential running mate’s stances on abortion – and he won’t pick someone deemed too hardline, meaning anyone who supports a 6-week ban on abortion or stricter.

Specifically, the report notes Trump is concerned about two short-listed candidates:

1. Sen. Tim Scott, who has publicly supported a 6-week abortion ban.

2. Gov. Kristi Noem, a self-described “absolutist” on the abortion issue who signed one the strictest bans in the nation, with the only exception being to save the mother’s life.

"The president needs to pick an individual who actually has the experience, the judgment, the temperament, to credibly be seen by voters to actually be president," Roger Stone said.

Senior Trump campaign adviser Jason Miller said to take all the reports with a grain of salt.

Daily Mail reports:

But Jason Miller, a senior Trump campaign adviser, told Bloomberg it's too early to say who he will pick: 'The truth is that unless you hear it directly from President Trump or his campaign, this is all b.s.'

For a running mate, Trump reportedly wants someone who isn't motivated by the limelight and says that he is not impressed by the names currently circulating.

Last week, Trump said he'd already ruled out some possible vice presidential contenders because they haven't 'behaved properly' and then bragged he could have anyone he wants on his ticket, including a Democrat.

Dozens of names have been batted about as possible contenders for Trump's presidential ticket.

However, he did tell Newsmax host Greg Kelly that he's ruled some out, even though he declined to say who.

'Some people that I didn't think behaved properly. Yeah, I think I've ruled some people out, but I've ruled a lot of people in.

'We have a lot of great people in the Republican Party, and they'll do a terrific job, I think, but certainly I have people that I wouldn't want as a vice president,' Trump said.'
