David Holmes, counselor for political affairs at the US Embassy in Ukraine, is one of two closing witnesses today in the Democrat impeachment circus. During a key portion of his testimony, Holmes explained how, during lunch in Kiev at a restaurant with U.S. Ambassador to the E.U. Gordon Sondland, which included drinking a bottle of wine, he overheard a cell phone conversation between Ambassador Sondland and President Trump.

In his testimony, Holmes explained how he was seated directly across from Sondland at a restaurant in Ukraine. He recalled how, during their lunch, Ambassador Sondland called President Trump, using his cell phone. Holmes explained that even though Sondland never used the “speaker” function of his phone, he could clearly hear the phone call, recalling that at one point, Sondland held the phone away from his ear.

Holmes explained that he did not take any notes about the call, that he clearly remembered every detail, saying that he overheard Sondland tell President Trump that “Zelensky loves your ass.” Holmes said he then heard President Trump ask, “So he’s gonna do the investigation?” According to Holmes, Sondland replied, “He’s gonna do it—adding that President Zelensky will do anything you ask him to do.”

Holmes claimed that after the phone call, he and Sondland discussed the call with Trump. He said he asked Ambassador Sondland if Trump cared about Ukraine? According to Holmes, Sondland responded that “President Trump doesn’t give an ‘expletive’ about Ukraine.”

Watch:

CNN hosts were giddy today, as they discussed the events unfolding at today’s impeachment sham.

Top CNN fake news hosts gathered around a table to discuss the testimony of Mr. Holmes. In an attempt to get out ahead of any criticism of Holmes’ recollection of the phone call between Sondland and Trump by Republicans or the few remaining Fox News hosts who aren’t anti-Trumpers; CNN host Chris Cuomo made a live phone call to his mom from his cell phone.

In an attempt to prove how easy it is for others to overhear a conversation on a cell phone, the CNN host asked his mom a question and asked her to reply.

“Mom, can you hear me?” Cuomo asked

“Alright, so if I’m holding the phone her with Dana Bash,” he told his mom.

“Can you just say ‘hello?'” Cuomo asked.

Not a  sound could be heard from his phone.

“Mom…?,” an embarrassed Cuomo pleaded.

“She probably can’t hear me,” he told his co-hosts.

Cuomo put the phone on “speaker” and asked his mom can be heard responding loudly, “Yes, I hear you! When you talk to me, I hear you.”

Cuomo took the phone off the “speaker” function and asked again, “Say hello to Dana Bash?”

No answer.

Dana Bash addressed Mrs. Cuomo and asked her how she was doing?

After a few seconds of uncomfortable silence, the CNN hosts all agreed that they couldn’t hear his mother on the phone.

Watch the awkward exchange here:

An embarrassed Chris Cuomo ended the segment by thanking his mom, not saying anything that could get him in trouble, which was, of course, ridiculous since no one could hear a word she was saying. The funniest part was when his co-host Dana Bash who was only inches from his cell phone, couldn’t hear Cuomo’s mother responding to him.
