Yesterday, on Twitter, President Trump warned violent and destructive protesters that there will be consequences for their actions:

I have authorized the Federal Government to arrest anyone who vandalizes or destroys any monument, statue or other such Federal property in the U.S. with up to 10 years in prison, per the Veteran’s Memorial Preservation Act, or such other laws that may be pertinent…..This action is taken effective immediately, but may also be used retroactively for destruction or vandalism already caused. There will be no exceptions!

House Minority Speaker Kevin McCarthy echoed President Trump’s sentiments about how the left-wing mob must pay for the crimes they’re committing when they destroy private and public property.

Rep. McCarthy tweeted: The left-wing mob presents a serious threat to the American way of life. They won’t stop at statues. They’ve already torched police precincts, low-income housing, and churches.

This violence against people and property cannot go unpunished.

Finally, the Department of the Interior has released video footage showing the violence our law enforcement officers have been forced to endure to protect innocent citizens and both public and private property from being destroyed by left-wing agitators like Antifa, and violent BLM protesters.

The Washington Free Beacon reports – New footage was released today, showing U.S. Park Police clashing with violent protesters outside the White House late last month. The video shows protesters repeatedly striking officers and hurling bricks and other projectiles at them.

“The video shows agitators throwing bricks, glass, bottles, and other assaults against law enforcement officers,” an agency spokesman said. “More than 60 U.S. Park Police officers have been injured since these protests started, some hospitalized requiring surgeries.”

The video, according to the agency, was taken during protests before June 1, when authorities cleared Lafayette Park to give President Donald Trump a path to visit St. John’s Church. The actions taken by police were roundly criticized by Trump’s political opponents and media commentators, who have repeatedly characterized the ongoing anti-police protests as peaceful.
