President Trump received an endorsement from former GOP presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson.

Dr. Carson, who served as the United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development from 2017 to 2021, was a presidential candidate in the 2016 Republican primaries.

The 72-year-old retired neurosurgeon gave Trump his full endorsement.

“As I stand here today, I’m going to offer my most confident and full endorsement to Donald J. Trump,” Carson said.

Who could forget this moment during one of the 2016 Republican primary debates.

I have NEVER forgotten this moment….

In 2016 at an early debate, NBC forgot to call Ben Carson’s name.

The other candidates blew past him, but when Trump’s name was called instead of going to the debate stage, Trump remained with Carson until they called his name.

Historic moment.

Today Dr. Carson returns the favor and stands by Trump.

RSBN reports:

Respected conservative leader and retired neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson endorsed President Donald J. Trump in his 2024 reelection bid in Sioux City, Iowa, on Sunday, speaking to a large crowd at the Orpheum Theatre.

He shared, “You know, Benjamin Franklin was asked in 1787 after they finished the Constitutional Convention, ‘Sir, what do we have here? A monarchy or a republic?’ He said, ‘A republic, IF you can keep it.’ The way we can keep it is we can put Donald J. Trump back in office!”

This drew huge cheers and applause from the audience.

Dr. Carson continued, “And as I stand here today, I’m going to offer my most confident and full endorsement of Donald J. Trump.”

Dr. Carson formerly ran for president on the Republican ticket in 2016. During the Trump administration, he served as the United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.

On Sunday, he called Trump “his friend” as well as America’s friend, and introduced the president as he took the stage. The two men shook hands and the crowd warmly welcomed the 45th president amid Trump’s signature walkout music, “God Bless the USA,” by Lee Greenwood.

Trump’s speech in Iowa on Sunday capped off a busy weekend of campaigning. On Saturday, he delivered back-to-back speeches in Las Vegas, Nevada, beginning with the Republican Jewish Coalition and ending with a Team Trump Commit to Caucus Event in the Silver State.
