Kamala Harris told Oprah Winfrey she would shoot an intruder if they break into her house.

Harris made the comments during a virtual campaign rally.

“I’m a gun owner,” Harris said.

“I did not know that,” Winfrey responded.

“If somebody breaks into my house, they’re getting shot,” Harris added.

Harris’ comments exemplify ‘rules for thee but not for me.’

The Democratic presidential nominee believes she has the inalienable right to self-defense.

However, she wants to violate that right for Americans nationwide.

“Probably should not have said that,” Harris said.

“But my staff will deal with that later,” she added.

“I’m in favor of the Second Amendment, and I’m in favor of assault weapons bans, universal background checks, and red flag laws,” Harris said.

“And these are just common sense,” she added.

At the presidential debate, Harris said, “I’ve made very clear my position on fracking and then this business about taking everyone’s guns away. Tim Walz and I are both gun owners. We’re not taking anybody’s guns away. So stop with the continuous lying about this stuff.”

Video recently resurfaced of Harris as San Francisco’s district attorney in 2007 saying police officers could enter the locked homes of legal gun owners and inspect how they store their weapons.

“We’re going to require responsible behaviors among everybody in the community, and just because you legally possess a gun in the sanctity of your locked home doesn’t mean that we’re not going to walk into that home and check to see if you’re being responsible and safe in the way you conduct your affairs,” Harris said at the time.

There was a portion of the Thursday event on gun violence prevention, during which a survivor of the Georgia school shooting earlier this month spoke before Harris. She was in class when she was shot twice and appeared at the event still in a cast. The Apalachee High School shooting occurred earlier this month when Colt Gray, a 14-year-old student, opened fire and killed four people.

During the segment, Harris discussed her gun violence prevention platform, which involves pushing for an assault weapons ban and universal background checks.
