Michigan Head Football Coach Jim Harbaugh came under fire after speaking at the Plymouth Right to Life dinner and auction at St. John’s in Plymouth, Michigan, because he defended respect for life, saying,
“I believe in having the courage to let the unborn be born. I love life. I believe in having loving care and respect for life and death. My faith and my science are what drive these beliefs in me,”
He also stated that more respect and civility need to underlie political discussion in America, especially when debating the topic of abortion.
When asked about his comments, he said that abortion is a serious issue that needs to be discussed. He defended taking a stance on his pro-life beliefs by rhetorically questioning “What kind of person would you be if you did not stand up for what you believe in and did not fight tooth and nail for it?

Harbaugh came under massive attack after his comments but is unwavering in his pro-life position.
When pushed for further comment, he said he and his wife would help raise a baby in an unwanted pregnancy.
Last week, Jim Harbaugh spoke at a Plymouth Right to Life event.
Now, the Michigan head coach has told @ESPN that he and his wife would raise the child of someone in his family, football program, or staff if they couldn’t.
