Team USA was staring at a three-point hole Sunday morning. By evening, President Trump was on the stage handing captain Brandt Snedeker the Presidents Cup — and Snedeker was giving Trump “all the credit.”
The Americans stormed back from a 10.5–7.5 deficit in the final singles session at Medinah Country Club, winning the competition 17–13 and extending their Presidents Cup winning streak to 11 straight.

PGA TOUR reported that Snedeker entered Sunday openly taking responsibility for the three-point deficit. He said he had not held up his end of the bargain, then loaded the top of the singles lineup with Cameron Young, Wyndham Clark, Justin Thomas and Scottie Scheffler in hopes of putting red on the board early.
That gamble paid off. The United States won all but three of Sunday’s 12 singles matches, turning what looked like a looming defeat into a four-point victory.
President Trump, serving as honorary chairman of the event, addressed the crowd before play and told Snedeker he planned to bring the energy Team USA needed.
When the comeback was complete, Snedeker made sure the television audience heard exactly what the president had told him:

The Guardian confirmed the 17–13 final and reported that the Americans improved their all-time Presidents Cup record to 14-1-1. The International Team had entered Sunday positioned to end a 28-year win drought, but the American lineup flipped the competition in a dominant final session.
Eight of the world’s 11 highest-ranked golfers were on the U.S. roster. Bridgeman supplied the clincher by sinking a four-foot par putt on No. 18 to beat Australia’s Min Woo Lee 1-up.
Snedeker later pointed to Medinah’s history of improbable finishes and said his players never lost faith. The comeback was especially dramatic because the course is famous for a reversal in the other direction: Europe’s “Miracle at Medinah” against the United States in the 2012 Ryder Cup.
This time, it was Team USA writing the final-day comeback story.
The Presidents Cup announced in August that President Trump had accepted the honorary-chairman role for the 2026 competition. The position traditionally goes to the sitting head of state in the host country, and Trump arrived Sunday with the Americans needing a jolt.
After the final putt, President Trump joined the team for the closing ceremony and presented the trophy to Snedeker as the American players celebrated around them:

Snedeker had spent Saturday night accepting the blame for the deficit. Less than 24 hours later, he was holding the trophy, thanking his players and crediting President Trump for showing up with exactly the energy he promised.
Eleven straight Presidents Cups now belong to the United States — and this one came with a comeback at Medinah, a presidential trophy presentation and one unforgettable shoutout from the winning captain.
