President Trump presented Eldrick “Tiger” Woods with the Presidential Medal of Freedom today in an emotional cremony at the White House.

President Trump has been friends with Woods and has played golf several times with both Woods and legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus.

“Your spectacular achievements on the golf course, your triumph over physical adversity and your relentless will to win, win, win.”

In brief remarks, Tiger Woods thanked his family, and was emotional as he acknowledged the three golfers to be presented the Presidential Medal of Freedom before him: Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Charlie Sifford.

He spoke about his climb back to the top of his golf game:

“I’ve tried to hang in there, and I’ve tried to come back and play the great game of golf again. I’ve been lucky enough to have had the opportunity to do it again.”
