Nicole Shanahan, independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s running mate, said they’re considering joining forces with Donald Trump.

In a discussion with Tom Bilyeu on Impact Theory, Shanahan said their team has two options at this stage in the race.

“There’s two options that we’re looking at and one is staying in, forming that new party, but we run the risk of a Kamala Harris and Waltz presidency because we draw votes from Trump. We draw somehow more votes from Trump,” Shanahan said.

“Or we walk away right now and join forces with Donald Trump and we walk away from that. We explain to our base why we’re making this decision,” she added.

“Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s independent presidential campaign is disappearing — both on the trail and in the polls,” NBC News stated earlier this month.

Per NBC News:

The last public event put on by Kennedy was in Freeport, Maine, on July 9. Kennedy has since spoken virtually and appeared at a cryptocurrency conference and events put on by others, but he hasn’t been stumping on the campaign trail. (He did speak in person with reporters the day President Joe Biden dropped out of the race.) And it’s been months since his running mate, Nicole Shanahan, has had a public event on the campaign trail.

Kennedy’s public poll numbers are dropping, from around 9% or 10% in national surveys before Biden dropped out, to about half that level now. His last financial report showed the campaign carrying debt equal to more than half of the $5.6 million it had in the bank. On a media call last week, Kennedy said Democrats and Republicans colluded to make it “insurmountable” for an independent to get on the ballot in all 50 states — which he and his campaign had previously talked about as a matter of when, not if.

Last month, rumors circulated that RFK Jr. would drop out and endorse President Trump.

RFK Jr. responded to the rumors and called it “fake news.”

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Addresses Rumors He Plans To Drop Out And Endorse Donald Trump

According to ABC News, Trump and RFK Jr. spoke in-person in Milwaukee during the Republican National Convention.

“At least one idea floated, according to two people with knowledge of the talks, was for Kennedy, a vaccine skeptic who speaks often about the perils of chronic disease, to oversee the Health and Human Services Department under a possible Trump administration,” ABC News wrote.

The two candidates also spoke on a phone call, which leaked to the public.

Reports surfaced last week that RFK Jr. allegedly attempted to arrange a meeting with Kamala Harris to discuss a potential role, possibly as a Cabinet secretary, in her administration if he dropped out of the election and endorsed her.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Allegedly Sought Meeting With Harris Team To Discuss Potential Role In Administration In Exchange For Endorsement

RFK Jr. called the reports “fake news.”

“I have no plans to endorse Kamala Harris for President. I do have a plan to defeat her,” he said.

“VP Harris’s Democratic Party would be unrecognizable to my father and uncle and I cannot reconcile it with my values. The Democratic Party of RFK and JFK was the party of civil liberties and free speech. VP Harris‘s is the party of censorship, lockdowns, and medical coercion. Kennedy Democrats were anti-war. Kamala‘s is riddled with neocon warmongers,” he continued.

“The RFK/JFK dems were allies of Main Street, cops, firefighters, and working people. VP Harris’s is the Party of Big Tech, Big Pharma and Wall Street. My dad and uncle’s party was the champion of voting rights and fair elections. VP Harris’s is the party of lawfare, disenfranchisement, and the coronation of its candidates by corporate donors and party elites. I’ve used our nation’s courts to prosecute corporations who hurt Black Americans. VP Harris used our nation’s courts to mercilessly prosecute Black Americans and exploit them for their labor,” he added.

“My father and uncle prided themselves on their skills at debate and their ability to articulate a coherent vision for our country. VP Harris is scared to debate and can’t survive an unscripted interview. Instead of outlining a vision, she relies on middleschool tactics – memes, forged headlines, infantile slogans (Joy!) and name calling (‘Republicans are weird.’) I’ve spent years battling government corruption and lies. VP Harris spent years gaslighting Americans about the health of our Commander in Chief,” he said.
