Think about it…Maxine Waters just took over the very powerful Financial Services Committee in Congress. Watch as a reporter with “Capitol Intel Group” tries to ask questions and she just looks dazed and confused. Is this concerning to anyone out there? We hope so!
Rep. Maxine Waters has been involved in bank regulation and the subprime mortgage crisis…Remember the housing bubble and crash? You can thank Maxine for denying there was a problem:
Mr. Chairman, we do not have a crisis at Freddie Mac, and in particular at Fannie Mae, under the outstanding leadership of Mr. Frank Raines. Everything in the 1992 act has worked just fine. In fact, the GSEs have exceeded their housing goals. What we need to do today is to focus on the regulator, and this must be done in a manner so as not to impede their affordable housing mission, a mission that has seen innovation flourish from desktop underwriting to 100 percent loans. — Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) in a September, 2003, hearing of the House Committee on Financial Services.
Watch the video below where she claims everything is great:
“I will be the first African-American, the first woman to chair the powerful Financial Services Committee.” Don’t forget Waters’ involvement with Barnie Frank in forcing banks to lend to unqualified people (SEE BELOW).
SHE WENT ON TO WARN BANKS, INSURANCE COMPANIES, AND WALL STREET:
“I have not forgotten you foreclosed on our houses,” she warned. I have not forgotten that you undermined our communities.”
“I have not forgotten that you sold us those exotic products, had us sign on the dotted line for junk and for the mess that we could not afford.”
“I have people who are homeless who have never gotten back into a home. What am I going to do to you?
“What I am going to do to you is fair. I’m going to do to you what you did to us.”
REMEMBER THIS? “WE DO NOT HAVE A CRISIS AT FREDDIE MAC AND FANNIE MAE”
“TARGETED BY THE LENDERS”???
What she doesn’t tell the people she’s talking to is that she was part of the reason the housing bubble happened in the first place!
