Joe Biden’s speech to a crowd is being called out for one over-the-top comment about delivering a death blow to President Trump on election night. Of course, it’s not a literal meaning but is insensitive because the president is currently in the hospital:

This is more ugly politics coming from the campaign that promised they would remove negative adds when President Trump was sick but didn’t follow through with the promise:

“Despite pledging to stop his negative advertising, nearly 100 negative Biden ads slandering the president and lying about his record have aired today.”

— Andrew Clark, Trump 2020 Campaign

With President Trump at Walter Reed Medical Center, Joe Biden tells a crowd to fantasize about President Trump being delivered a “coup de grâce,” or death blow.

Merriam-Webster defines coup de grâce as “a death blow or death shot administered to end the suffering of one mortally wounded.”
