America is miles ahead of all other nations in refugee resettlement! Just look at the chart below! Since 1975, the U.S. has resettled over 3 million refugees, with annual admissions figures ranging from a high of 207,000 in 1980 to a low of 27,110 in 2002 (in the aftermath of 911) . Please listen to Ann Corcoran in the video below! Her town was forever changed with refugees!
If you are scratching your head and saying, but doesn’t Germany take the most? The answer is that Germany is being flooded by ‘asylum seekers’ and economic migrants who have gone there on their own steam. They are not considered third country refugee resettlement cases. Germany will presumably sort through the hundreds of thousands of Africans and Middle Easterners and make a determination about how many will be given permanent residence as legitimate refugees and ultimately citizenship.
We are funding this resettlement! America has become a global magnet for refugees because of all of the taxpayer funded goodies:
Refugee access to welfare on the same basis as a U.S. citizen has made the program a global magnet.
The federal programs available to them include:
∙ Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) formerly known as AFDC
∙ Food Stamps
∙ Public Housing
∙ Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
∙ Social Security Disability Insurance
∙ Administration on Developmental Disabilities (ADD) (direct services only)
∙ Child Care and Development Fund
∙ Independent Living Program
∙ Job Opportunities for Low Income Individuals (JOLI)
∙ Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
∙ Postsecondary Education Loans and Grants
∙ Refugee Assistance Programs
∙ Title IV Foster Care and Adoption Assistance Payments (if parents are ⌠qualified immigrants – refugees, asylees, etc)
∙ Title XX Social Services Block Grant Funds
