A Washington, D.C. mosque held a ceremony recently to honor a radical Islamist who is being applauded for murdering an esteemed Pakistani political figure because he derided the Muslim country’s blasphemy laws and supported a Christian woman.

Via Judicial Watch: The event is officially known as an “Urs”, a Muslim celebration to commemorate the death anniversary of saints. In this case, the Maryland mosque was honoring an Islamist assassin named Mumtaz Qadri who shot the governor (Salman Taseer) of Punjab province in 2011 for speaking out against the nation’s abhorrent blasphemy laws. Qadri was the governor’s bodyguard and he shot him 28 times in Islamabad’s Kohsar Market in broad daylight, according to an international news report.

The country of Pakistan’s anti-terrorism court convicted him of murder and hanged him in 2016.  However, in the land of the free, the Gulxar E Madina Mosque in Maryland held the ceremony in his honor on Sunday.

This disgraceful display of overt extremism is no doubt tolerated due to the damage done by the Obama administration’s policies that protect Muslim rights and try to diminish the connection between Islamic beliefs and radical terrorism.
