Yesterday, a former FOX News host turned radical left-wing progressive said that Republicans who spread ‘disinformation’ should be thrown in jail.

Carl Cameron, who was a FOX News reporter for two decades, made the comments as MSNBC was discussing the recent mass shooting in Buffalo that claimed multiple lives and left others injured.

“It really is kind of horrible to think that journalists with national and international capacity are putting together this type of nonsense. I think the president did a great job. I wish he had done a lot of this a lot sooner, and we need a lot more from the left and the middle, and we got to watch out because the Republicans have become the purveyors of misinformation, and when our two-party system is broken like that, democracy is seriously in trouble. The president acknowledged that it’s time to actually start doing things and maybe taking some names and putting people in jail.” He said.

The comments were part of the left’s attempt to pin the shootings on conservative media pundits like Tucker Carlson for ‘radicalizing’ the shooter.  This is despite the fact that the shooter makes no mention of Tucker Carlson or FOX News in his manifesto and actually criticized FOX for being owned by Jewish people.

Cameron’s comments, while unsettling, are shared by a significant number of Democrats.  A poll conducted in January of this year found that nearly half of Democrats, 48 percent, believe people should be fined or imprisoned if they question the efficacy of the Covid-19 vaccine.

A poll conducted last year by Pew Research found that a majority of Americans do not support the government taking steps to restrict ‘disinformation’ online.  However, 65% of Democrats believed that the government should restrict speech deemed to be disinformation.
