National Security Council aide Craig Deare was dismissed on Friday after it was learned that he harshly criticized the President and his top aides.

Deare’s criticisms took place at an off-the-record roundtable and included attacking the President himself, chief strategist Stephen Bannon and the President’s daughter Ivanka and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, both of whom serve as advisers.  He also claimed that the President had an embarrassing phone call with Mexico’s president, Enrique Pena Nieto.

Deare served as the NSC’s senior director for Western Hemisphere Affairs and was previously the dean of administration at National Defense University.
