How many warning signs did the local authorities need to prove to them that the 19-year-old Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School killer, Nikolas Cruz, was a danger to himself and to anyone around him? This kid was practically begging for someone to recognize that he was a pressure cooker about to explode. Too bad the Broward County Sheriff’s office under the self-described “amazing leadership” of Sheriff Israel, didn’t properly address the forty-five 9-11 calls that could’ve prevented this horrific tragedy.

The Miami Herald reports – Nikolas Cruz, the confessed killer of 17 people at a Parkland high school, called police a few months ago to say that someone he was living with was going to “gut me.”

In two newly released 911 tapes, Cruz is heard telling the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office about an altercation he had with the son of a family friend, Roxanne Deschamps, on Nov. 29.

In the second 911 call on the same day, Cruz tried to explain the fight to police: “I was just assaulted now. He started attacking me, and he kicked me out of the house, and he said he was going to gut me,” he said.

Deschamps is the woman who took in Cruz and his younger brother after their mother died of the flu in November.

Cruz, 19, is accused of murdering 14 students and three faculty members last week at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Feb. 14. By then, he was no longer living with the Deschamps; he had moved in with Kimberly and James Snead in Broward.

In one tape, Deschamps is heard telling police that Cruz was “pissed off” because she took away his guns and ammunition. In the incident report, deputies said Cruz punched walls and broke items when the weapons were confiscated.

Deschamps’ son, Rock Deschamps, approached Cruz to calm him down. Cruz punched him in the jaw. Deschamps punched him back; Cruz ran away, according to a police report.

“Because that’s all he wants is his gun,” Roxanne Deschamps said, according to records released to the Miami Herald on Friday. “That’s all he cares about is his gun, and he bought tons of ammunition, bullets and stuff, and I took it away from him.”

In the second 911 call on the same day, Cruz tried to explain the fight to police: “I was just assaulted now. He started attacking me, and he kicked me out of the house, and he said he was going to gut me,” he said.

Roxanne Deschamps told deputies that Cruz abruptly left and went to a sporting goods store to pick up a gun he had previously ordered.

“I’m afraid if he comes back, and he has a lot of weapons, and he has a weapon that he is going to get at Dick’s [Sporting Goods] right now because he purchased it,” she said, noting that his aggressive behavior wasn’t new.

“He put the gun to the head of his brother before, so this is not the first time, and he did that to his mom, and his mom died,” she said.
