US Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Chris Magnus is lashing out at the Biden administration after being asked to resign as the border crisis has showed no signs of abating in Biden’s first two years in office.

In 2021, a record number of illegal immigrants were detained at the border.

This year, illegal border crossings topped 2.7 million.

Immigration experts say that Biden and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas are largely to blame for the current immigration crisis “Mayorkas has eviscerated our interior immigration enforcement apparatus—meaning that once an illegal alien enters our country, they become virtually impossible to remove,” said Matthew Tragesser at the Federation for American Immigration Reform.

The Biden administration has pressured Magnus to resign after he faced sexual harassment allegations during his tenure as the police chief of Richmond, California.

The Biden administration has also asked for his resignation due to poor performance as the Border Protection Commissioner.

The commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection is refusing to leave his position after being told to resign or be fired by Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, according to a government source.

Chris Magnus wrote in an email to senior Customs and Border Protection staff that he is determined to remain on the job.

“I want to make this clear: I have no plans to resign as CBP Commissioner. I didn’t take this job as a resume builder. I came to Washington, DC— moved my family here— because I care about this agency, its mission, and the goals of this Administration,” the letter obtained by Fox News states.

Fox News reported on Friday that Magnus is being forced out of his job, which comes after a record-breaking year for the number of migrants attempting to enter the United States through the southern border.
