I’ve got a new Mandela Effect for you…

If you don’t know what the Mandela Effect is, it’s basically something that most people all remember one way but now if you go research it you find out what we all remember did not actually happen.

It’s wild.

Here are five examples:

1. The Berenstain Bears vs. Berenstein Bears

The Berenstain Bears Go to School by Stan Berenstain
 – Trailhead Books

What millions remember: The Berenstein Bears.

What it actually is: The Berenstain Bears.

Countless people who grew up reading these children’s books distinctly remember the name ending in -stein, not -stain.

Some even insist they remember teachers pronouncing it “Beren-steen.”

Why it’s fascinating: People often have remarkably confident memories of seeing the supposedly incorrect spelling on actual book covers.

2. The Monopoly Man’s Missing Monocle

RisiBank

What millions remember: The Monopoly Man wearing a monocle over one eye.

Reality: The classic Monopoly mascot, Rich Uncle Pennybags, does not wear a monocle.

He has a top hat, mustache, tuxedo, and cane—but no monocle.

Why it’s fascinating: The monocle seems so perfectly suited to his wealthy, old-fashioned appearance that many people can practically picture it on his face.

3. Fruit of the Loom’s Missing Cornucopia

FRUIT OF THE LOOM REINTRODUCES THE "FRUIT PEOPLE," ICONIC CHARACTERS FORMERLY KNOWN AS THE "FRUIT GUYS," TO SOCIAL MEDIA

What millions remember: The Fruit of the Loom logo featuring a pile of fruit spilling out of a cornucopia (a horn-shaped basket).

Reality: The company’s documented logos feature fruit, but no cornucopia.

This is one of the most fiercely debated Mandela Effects because people insist they remember seeing the cornucopia on underwear tags throughout their childhoods.

Why it’s fascinating: Some people even claim the logo was how they first learned what a cornucopia was!

4. Darth Vader Never Said “Luke, I Am Your Father”

Things Only True Fans Noticed About Star Wars' Iconic 'I Am Your Father' Scene

What millions remember:

“Luke, I am your father.”

What Darth Vader actually says:

“No, I am your father.”

In The Empire Strikes Back, Darth Vader’s famous revelation has been misquoted for decades.

Why it’s fascinating: The incorrect version became so embedded in popular culture that even people who have watched the movie repeatedly often quote it incorrectly.

5. Nelson Mandela Dying in Prison

What some people remember: Nelson Mandela dying in prison during the 1980s, sometimes accompanied by memories of televised funerals and widespread mourning.

Reality: Mandela was released from prison in 1990, became South Africa’s president in 1994, and died on December 5, 2013, at age 95.

Why it’s fascinating: This is the original Mandela Effect—the phenomenon was named after people reporting false memories of his death decades before it actually happened.

Now we have a new one to add to the list….

What’s America’s national bird?

Everyone knows that right?

It’s the Bald Eagle!

It’s on our money, on our buildings, in movies.

It’s iconic.

Except….it wasn’t ever our national bird until 2024.

Watch here:

It’s actually true!

And while he didn’t do anything else productive, I guess Joe Biden found this to be a pressing issue to tend to in 2024?

Yes! The Bald Eagle is officially the national bird of the United States as of December 24, 2024.

Although the Bald Eagle had been a national symbol since 1782, when it was incorporated into the Great Seal of the United States, it was never formally designated as the national bird by federal law.

That changed when President Joe Biden signed legislation on December 24, 2024, officially recognizing the Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) as America’s national bird.

Interestingly, that means the United States went nearly 242 years using the Bald Eagle as its national symbol without officially naming it the national bird!

One correction to the date: The official federal law records show that Public Law 118-206 was approved on December 23, 2024, although news coverage reported the signing on December 24.

ALL TIME 15 Strangest Mandela Effects Nobody’s Talking About

I’ve written about the Mandela Effect many times before because it absolutely fascinates me!

You don’t have to believe in the theory that we’re forming alternate universes or going on “different timelines” to be fascinated by it.

And I would challenge anyone to tell me they’ve looked at the most popular Mandela Effects and not connected with at least one of them.

I’ve covered some of the biggest and most popular ones many times before and I’ll copy those farther down below if you want to see them, but right now I want to cover the Top 15 strangest but also least covered Mandela Effects.

This is a great video and I would really love to know what you think….

There are at least 5 in here that I very strongly remember quite clearly.

Watch here and then let’s discuss:

So what about you?

Any that you absolutely are positive you remember differently?

Post yours in the comments below.

Have You Experienced The Mandela Effect?

WATCH: Man Claims To Have PROOF of Three Popular Mandela Effects

I’m not posting this article because I believe some random video on the Internet is proof that the Mandela Effect is real.

Heck, I’m not even convinced this video is real, it could be fake.

But that’s not the point.

I’m posting this video because these THREE examples of the Mandela Effect are EXACTLY how I remember things being back, say, in the 1990s.

I remember all three of these vividly and this video perfectly demonstrates all three.

Maybe you will remember one or two or three of them too?

But according to the official story, none of these three things ever existed like this (that’s the essence of the Mandela Effect, more on that down below if you’re not familiar).

First watch this:

!function(r,u,m,b,l,e){r._Rumble=b,r[b]||(r[b]=function(){(r[b]._=r[b]._||[]).push(arguments);if(r[b]._.length==1){l=u.createElement(m),e=u.getElementsByTagName(m)[0],l.async=1,l.src=”https://rumble.com/embedJS/u2oodx”+(arguments[1].video?’.’+arguments[1].video:”)+”/?url=”+encodeURIComponent(location.href)+”&args=”+encodeURIComponent(JSON.stringify([].slice.apply(arguments))),e.parentNode.insertBefore(l,e)}})}(window, document, “script”, “Rumble”);

Rumble(“play”, {“video”:”v6y2cg2″,”div”:”rumble_v6y2cg2″});

Backup here if needed:

Here’s a better look at the VHS tape EXACTLY as I remember it:

Heck, I remember we OWNED this VHS tape back in the 1990s.

I have vivid memories of being in my living room and I can still picture in my head exactly where this VHS tape sat on our shelf.

But now they say it never existed?

I also vividly remember the Fruit of the Loom cornucopia logo:

But now they say that never existed either.

And the third I could chalk up to maybe not paying close enough attention or being a kid and not really focusing on every letter of a word, but man I sure do remember the BerenSTEIN Bears, not the BerenSTAIN Bears….how about you?

If you’re not familiar with the Mandela Effect or want to go much deeper, keep reading…

Have You Experienced The Mandela Effect?

Have you ever heard of The Mandela Effect?

Have you ever experienced it?

I’ve been wanting to write about this for a long time and I’m finally getting the chance to do it today.

Many of you have probably heard of The Mandela Effect before, but I’m guessing this will be new for many of you as well.

Even for those familiar with it, I bet I’ll have some new information for you in everything I’m about to show you….

Let’s start with the most basic question: What exactly IS the Mandela Effect?

It’s basically the idea that there are many examples of a shared false memory.

Let me break that down…

We all remember things wrong from time to time.

We forget where we left something….

We get details wrong or can’t remember them at all….

It’s one of the reasons why “eyewitness testimony” is so notoriously unreliable.

In study after study, researchers have shown that eyewitness testimony is constantly wrong and conflicting.

To that point, have you ever seen this video?

This might just blow your mind:

So there’s no doubt we don’t all have perfect memories, definitely not in the long term and often not even in the short term.

Heck, if we all had perfect memories then we all would have scored an A+ in every single class we ever took in school!

Of course that’s not the case, but that’s not what really makes The Mandela Effect so strange.

The strangeness comes in because we’re not talking about just bad memories or remembering things incorrectly, we’re talking about SHARED false memories.

It’s one thing for ONE person to have a false memory or a hallucination….

But it’s extremely rare, if not impossible, for dozens, hundreds, thousands or even millions of people to all have the SAME shared false memory or hallucination.

And that is exactly what The Mandela Effect is all about.

It all started with its namesake, Nelson Mandela.

Millions of people are adamant they remember him dying in prison in the 1980s, but it turns out that was not the case.  He died peacefully at home in 2013 after serving as South Africa’s President after his release from prison.

And once people started talking about the shared false memory of him dying in prison in the 1980s, people started realizing that’s not the only example.

There are actually HUNDREDS of shared false memories that are truly perplexing people.

I’m going to show you a list of 100 of them and I want to know which ones resonate with you.

If you’re like me, most of these will not be things you remember (or “mis-remember) and some will seem like they might have obvious explanations for how something could get twisted over the years and decades, almost like a giant game of Telephone.

But if you’re like me, there will be 5 or 10 on this list, or maybe just a small handful, that will stop you dead in your tracks and you’ll say there’s no way that is true.  There’s no way it’s NOT the (false) way I remember it!

And that’s what makes this so absolutely compelling.

So now let me give you the list of 100, and I’ll put in red the ones I absolutely 100% remember being true:
