Derek Chauvin has been found guilty of two counts of murder and one count of manslaughter in the death of George Floyd.

After only one day of deliberations, the jury in the case of former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin has found him to be guilty on all 3 counts:

Second Degree Murder (Unintentional killing while committing a felony): GUILTY

Third Degree Murder (Perpetrating an eminently dangerous act and evincing a depraved mind): GUILTY

Second Degree Manslaughter (Culpable negligence creating unreasonable risk): GUILTY

The jury was made up of 3 Black men, (2 of whom are immigrants), 1 Black woman; 2 multiracial women, 2 white men; and 4 white women.

Star Tribune reports – The fired police officer had on a paper mask and showed no significant reaction to the results. When his bail was revoked, he stood up, put his hands behind his back, was handcuffed and gave a nod to defense attorney Eric Nelson as he was led out the back door of the courtroom by a Hennepin County sheriff’s deputy.

Cahill thanked the jurors, who each confirmed their votes as correctly read. “I want to thank you for not only jury service, but heavy-duty jury service,” the judge said.

He asked the attorneys to file written arguments regarding aggravated sentencing factors that could add time to Chauvin’s sentence.

Yesterday, the judge told the court that Rep. Maxine Waters could’ve handed a mistrial to the defense in an appeal of his case after she called on violent BLM/Antifa protesters to become more confrontational, to stay on the streets, and not to accept anything less than a murder conviction for Chauvin:

Derick Chauvin’s Defense Attorney addressed Water’s comments during the final moments of the trial today, making an official complaint in court about her conduct over the weekend. Mr. Nelson reminded the court that the jury in the Derick Chauvin case was not sequestered, and it was highly likely that they saw Waters’ threatening and inciting comments in the media. Mr. Nelson said that Congresswoman Waters has essentially threatened the jury with her inflammatory remarks.

Judge Cahill stated that Waters’s violent rhetoric may have given the defense basis to overturn the entire trial on appeal.

Today, during a statement to the public, “President” Biden told the media that he was “praying the verdict is the right verdict,” adding, “which I think is overwhelming in my view.” It would appear to any reasonable judge that the President of the United States suggesting that he thinks the evidence is “overwhelming” in his view and that he’s “praying the verdict is the right verdict,” only hours before the final decision was made, would consider his comments to be controversial at best.

Republican lawmakers have been calling out Maxine Waters inflammatory remarks, while Democrats lawmakers have ignored the loudmouth congresswoman. It’s not the first time Maxine has asked her army to step up their violent tactics, she pulled a similar stunt when President Trump’s former press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was confronted in a restaurant. Maxine told a crowd of followers to keep up the pressure and to get into the faces of anyone tied to Trump and his administration.

Could Maxine Waters’ big mouth be the reason Chauvin gets off in an appeal?

No peace..no justice…or something like that.
